The Mossley Academy team had an early opportunity to avenge last week's defeat at Ossett United when hosting the same side at Seel Park on Monday afternoon. It wasn't to be though, as the Yorshire side took the spoils by 2-1.

It was a game that could easily have gone the other way though as both Ossett goals were the direct result of Mossley defensive errors.

After Mossley had opened brightly and opened the scoring on 10 minutes when some slick play saw Joao Da Rosa place a firm shot past the Ossett keeper.

However, just two miniutes later and against the run of play, a long through ball saw the Ossett number 9 Clarkson capitalise, as a weak header back to keeper Bardsley by the usually dependable Neves failed to reach it's intended target.

Mossley continued to dominate as both sides struggled to master the bone dry Seel Park surface making getting a clean shot away extremely difficult.

The second half followed a similar pattern with Mossley edging possession but chances were few and it was another long punt that decided the game as more defensive indecision saw Clarkson score his second when the goal could so easily have been avoided.

Mossley tried hard for an equaliser but shots were high and wide with Nwawa coming closest when his angled effort brushed past the far post and Ossett hung on to complete a quickfire 'double' over the Lilywhites youngsters..
